Sistah Blue (TM): News
A great weekend - - April 15, 2008
Hey everyone-
Saturday's Glendale Jazz & Blues Festival was probably the best one yet. This festival gets better every year, and this year's lineup of local and national talent was truly exciting and inspiring. And it was all free!
I must say that all of you who were out there for our set were just so encouraging and loving. The energy was bouncing back and forth from us to you.
Thanks to all who bought our T-shirts and CDs, and who had such nice words for us.
Sistah Blue Saying Goodbye - April 2, 2008
It's time to officially announce that Sistah Blue will be breaking up and we will perform our last show on May 22 at the Rhythm Room. We have been together for 13 years, gone through many changes, and still managed to keep going strong. Now it seems that we as individuals have less time and energy to devote to the band and to keep things fresh. It's not fair to our fans nor good for ourselves to not keep growing and inspired.
Some of us may go on with other bands or put together something new. We each will probably continue to perform in some capacity, but there are no definite plans right now.
I can't tell you how much fun we've had over the years; it's been incredible and our fans are the best!
We would not have gone on this long without all of your love and support.
We have gigs through April, so catch us in Scottsdale and Glendale as well as the Rhythm Room.
We'll keep in touch here with any news.
Sistah Blue! - July 20, 2007
Welcome to our website. Sistah Blue is Phoenix most popular blues band and Arizona mainstay. Voted twice as #1 Blues Band in Arizona and sent to the International Blues Competitions in Memphis, they took second place there twice. The ever evolving Sistah Blue has once again been under the divine influence of change. The constant stars of SB are Rochelle Raya (harmonica & vocals) and Nancy Dalessandro (guitar, formerly of Rocket 88s) and they are Sistah Blue. They bring with them the best of bands, including the featured diva Lila Sherman and drummer Janet Daniels, and their newest member- a Brotha, monster-bass player Terry Davis.
